Info

Date:
24 Apr 2015
Place:

Huis van Culturen en Sociale Samenhang, Sint-Jans-Molenbeek / Maison de la culture et de la cohésion sociale de Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Mommaertsstraat 4, 1080 Sint-Jans Molenbeek

During a series of lunch seminars, Bral, Brussels Academy and Crosstalks want to reflect on the future of urban commons, more specifically the commons in Brussels. The lunch seminars are open to everybody. They are meant to exchange knowledge and experiences on the different initiatives in Brussels, but also to reflect on the social importance of these initiatives: are they merely a useful form of leisure activities, or do they really lead to a new economy? And in that case, how is the relation with the prevailing economic and social order?

Programme:

12.00-12.20: Reception (bring your own lunch or buy a sandwich or soup at the Maison des Cultures)

12.20-12.25: Introduction by Eric Corijn (VUB)

12.25-12.40: Panoramic view by Olivier De Schutter (UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food & professor at the UCL)

12.45-12.55: Terre-en-vue (promote the access to land and give agricultural support) by Maarten Roels

12.55-13.05: Collectmet by Samad (CollectActif) & Eva De Baerdemaeker (Cultureghem)
